I finally decided to knit a wearable for me. Socks. I live in San Diego so I don’t really NEED hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, etc… but I figured socks should do the trick. So far, I’ve only made one pair of socks. Worsted weight yarn on size 8 needles (for my mama). They’re more like slippers and she loves them.
The ones for me, I made with Regia sock yarn on size 2 needles. I just finished them tonight and I hate them. I hate them SOOOOO very much. I think I may have made them a bit too big. There’s a garter border on the heel that feels uncomfortable on my foot, they bunch horribly at the ankle and heel when I flex my foot and I think I decreased too much at the toes on ONE of the socks. The only thing I can say I like about them is how they look. The stripes don’t match up exactly, but I think they’re pretty cute. Too bad they suck.
Now for the yuck. I had a wisdom tooth extracted on Wednesday. I was prepared for epic amounts of pain. Not so much. Despite the fact that it had a large root and really wanted to hang in there (the dentist had to do a lot of digging and yanking), the area from which the tooth was extracted didn’t hurt at all. What did hurt was the lower left side of my jaw (tooth was extracted from the top left). I think that was more from how she was cranking down on it while trying to pull the tooth. She gave me the tooth and I have it sitting on the counter, which completely disgusts Sailor Boy and Her Majesty.
